Cafe Chicken House Express

Chicken House Express is a Makati-based spot serving authentic chicken inasal from Bacolod, the birthplace of the dish. The owner is the son of the owners of Chicken House, a well-known inasal chain in Bacolod, and the restaurant has the stamp of approval from chef JP Anglo, a Bacolod native. The menu features both Paa (leg quarter) and Pecho (breast), both tasty and tender with crisp, nicely charred skin, though the leg quarter is noted as juicier. Beyond chicken, the restaurant also offers other skewers including Creamy Atay (liver), chewy Baticolon (gizzard), and fatty, juicy Isol (chicken butts). The Garlic Rice has a consistency similar to Thai sticky rice, topped with toasted garlic bits, but the standout is the house chicken oil—rich and buttery—that makes guests order another serving of rice.
