Palm Grill, Tausug

Chef Miggy Cabel Moreno is a Tausug chef, cultural advocate, and children's book author who has devoted his work to preserving the food traditions of Southern Mindanao. In 2017, he opened Palm Grill in Quezon City, the first and only Tausug restaurant in Luzon, followed by Cabel Heritage Restaurant near Malacañang, which celebrates broader Filipino heritage cuisine. At the inaugural Michelin Guide Philippines in 2026, both earned the Bib Gourmand distinction, making Palm Grill the first Tausug restaurant in the world to receive the honor. He cooks with the belief that food carries the stories of a place forward, from one generation to the next.
